Fatty Liver Disease & Obesity

Now one thing that is interesting to me, sometimes there are things that cause you to look fatter while actually losing significant amounts of weight. Specifically, they bloat the belly so maybe the rest of you is shrinking while that particular part is growing. For example, those who are malnourished often have this problem. But also, when you have cirrhosis of the liver, that happens. It is generally caused by pretty hardcore alcoholism, chronic hepatitis, or some kind of bile duct disorder, though of course hereditary plays a rather big part in the whole thing.

But generally speaking, when you suffer cirrhosis of the liver, you tend to suffer nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss, and abdominal pain in general which can really make you not want to eat. You also suffer inflammation in the abs, legs, and feet, which again makes you look bigger, bloated, etc. It’s just confusing in so many ways how some problems cause you to lose weight while actually growing larger in some areas. It’s a bit counterintuitive to say the least. But I guess that’s the way diseases go, they don’t always make a whole lot of sense in general terms.
