Fiber & Health

There are actually two types of fiber.  When I think of fiber, I generally just think about the type you can buy in pills to reduce irregularity, and that in itself can help you to balance itself out so that you have a really easier time losing weight in general.  But there are soluble and insoluble fibers, and I had combined all their benefits in my head.  But anyway, it can be found in a variety of foods: fruits, vegetables, whole grain foods, etc.

Basically speaking, soluble fiber has the tendency to attract water and become like a gel.  This slows down digestion, and at least one can suppress appetite quite effectively, helping you to also control the way sugar is released, lowering blood sugar and regulating diabetes.  Soluble fiber is the main one responsible for actually improving your heart health in general while reducing bad cholesterol levels.

Insoluble fiber on the other hand is basically the bulk in the digestive tract, the ones you find in your grocery store pills meant to regulate the digestive tract and basically help you to stop irregularity.  It is a cleanser, and with cleansing, you can absorb nutrients better, feel full faster, and basically enhance the way your body works.  So in short, for better health and weight loss in general, you definitely need both kinds of fibers.
